Web Design:When I build a site, I approach it as if I was a master-craftsman building a custom cabinet. I make sure all the pieces fit uniformly, sand all the corners, and make sure all the joints and hinges are straight and operate correctly. I code all by hand, I literally type out the HTML code without the help of software. Each page I create is a custom fit for the content. As an artist myself, I am sensitive to the artistic needs and aspirations of others. I have been working on the web since 1996 and I have extensive knowledge of user behavior and can shape a site, balancing the goals of the client with the expectations of users. I code with Search Engine Optimization in mind from the beginning, taking advantage of specific tagging, editing the correct aspects to be indexed and shared easily. Also, I leverage existing networks embedded code potential providing real time control to the content editors, such as CushyCMS, Twitter feed embeds, Youtube video playlists, and Flickr slideshows. My designs are inspired by graphic design artist Reid Miles who did the famous mid-century Blue Note LP covers. The power and simplicity within his work is something I try to emulate. The emotional evocation that Reid Miles could create with a single image and a limited colour and font palette is a perfect artistic challenge for HTML.
